Do you know which track you are waitlisted for ? Does it say anywhere on portal?

oh year I’m also curious about whether they reuse their rejection letters.
here’s mine:

Thank you for applying to the 2023 COSMOS program. Each year we receive many more qualified applicants than the number of students we can serve, and the selection process is therefore difficult. Although your application was impressive, we regret to inform you that you have not been admitted into COSMOS this year.

Thank you for your interest in COSMOS. We encourage you to apply again next year if the program is still in line with your academic goals. We wish you the best in all your endeavors.

Yeh i think they copy paste them for everyone who gets rejected lol.

no, it doesn’t I think

It’s copied and paste. Friend just sent me what he got

sophmore waitlisted ucd cluster 10.
@asdkjfhajkhsdfkjahsd saw your post on this last year, did you end up getting accepted/going?

Congrats! I got waitlisted for this. Does anyone know how likely it is for someone to get off the waitlist :sob:

Accepted to UCSD but cannot attend the full session, anyone knows if I can only attend a partial session, or extend the offer to next year?

Son was accepted to SC, not sure which cluster, maybe biology related. He is still waiting for a ‘free’ summer camp from Stanford!

My son attended two years ago. COSMOS students are expected to attend the entire session. You can certainly ask, but I don’t think the offer can be extended. If you decline you would need to reapply next year.

My daughter was waitlisted to UCD…Clusters 4 and 2 were her picks. Does anyone know what the WL chances are like? She is a junior , Bay Area. Thank you!

i got accepted into the ucsd h40 cluster 7, but will be declining.

From the admissions statistics they detail here:

“The demand for admission to COSMOS is strong and has been since its inception. For
example, of 4,833 completed applications for summer 2019, 1,060 (22%) were admitted,
and 340 (7%) were wait-listed.”

Looking at the list of clusters at the time of the report, there’s 42 - 340/42 equates to 8-9 people waitlisted per cluster. I’ve heard from similar forums on CC that they prioritize juniors as they won’t have the chance to apply again. There’s typically a 15-25%? decline rate I believe, don’t quote me on that. There’s roughly 20-30 kids per cluster. The waitlist is also ranked (they will not disclose your ranking, don’t try asking). Make of that what you will - just hope your daughter is one of the top 5 people on the waitlist.
