cosmos

has anyone attended this program? how competitive are admissions?

D2 attended COSMOS at UCSC in 2006. She absolutely loved it. Her college essay is about it. It's fairly competitive but with good grades and a good essay, you'll get in.

I attended COSMOS summer before last. It was fun, but I should have done more. It's semi-competitive, and you do stuff, but not a lot. Basically, you get in groups, attend specific classes, learn, and have LOTS of free time for games, sports, talking, socializing, whatever you want.

do you have any other recommendations for summer programs after your sophomore year

I think you should just apply for COSMOS if you really don't want to get into the trouble of all those apps, because the COSMOS app is not too long and you will have tons of fun there.
Also, I don't really know of any other summer programs related to cosmos.

thnx :) 10char

Yea, btw, which college with the COSMOS program are you applying to? I went to the one in Irvine and I had a blast. Played basketball, games in the rec room, chilled with people, ate a LOT, exercised, played guitar hero, among others. Besides going to the college classes and doing a final report.

i'm probabaly gonna apply to ucsd unless there is a cluster i want to do somewhere else
