Is the cost of cal dorms really 23k a year? That seems kind of high to me. I’m from out of state and on my financial aid sheet it says Berkeley dormatory is 23k. Did anyone else get the same thing?

see: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=51220

yeah i was confused about it too

Is it the cost of dorms or the cost of living, including such things as textbooks, travel costs, etc.? The room and board costs are in the range of 9500 -13000 depending on the dorm, how many in the room, and food options.

Hrm, it said Dormatory 23k on my financial award. I don't see how that is possible.

called and that's the price for tuition and dorms and other expenses. 23k is for one whole year. if you're out of state, the 17k is what's added to the 23. I was confused too.

ohhhh okay, I think I get it now. So for in state people it's just the 23k? And for out of state you simply add another 17k, making it a total of 40k, for out of state tuition and dorms and everything else?

For tuition it's about $8k per year (including lab fee, health insurance, but not books) for INSTATE
dorms range from 9k~13k...
so the $23,000 estimate is probably all inclusive

thank you for clarifying things up!
