I live in the US and want to go to Camridge. If I get in, appoximately how much do I have to pay per year?

Cambridge likes people who can read a website.

[Undergraduate Admissions: Cambridge Admissions Office - Costs to consider](<a href=“Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge”>Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge)

Okay, so that’s 20,000 pounds a year, approx?

Erm no? I read it as around £25k a year for a course in Band 1 or 2, and considerably more for Bands 3 or 4 and 5.

I’m in Band 2. Okay, 25k pounds is $35.7k I think that’s cheaper than Stanford

Remember that there are more extras - transportation, and probably buying stuff that you would just bring to school here in the US. It’s very expensive to ship things overseas so you may end up buying clothes, dorm room supplies and the like. You will need a cell phone that works on the UK network. Passport. I’m not sure how medical insurance works either.

You don’t need medical insurance in the UK, it’s a civilised country.

But you are right about the extra costs of being an overseas student.

Shh. Don’t say that to American conservatives.

Depending on college, rent is usually subsidised, so it would only cost around £3500 a year (and that’s a single room, Cambridge doesn’t have dorms.) I don’t know how this compares to US colleges, but it seems pretty reasonable. And if you pick a rich college (i.e. most of them) there will be lots of additional bursaries, grants etc. so take this into account.

Is there such thing as financial aid for internationals?

There are scholarships but they are for exceptional people (think rhodes/fulbright level).
