Cost of International Education

It has always been a dream of mine to attend University outside of the United States, but only recently have I been actually looking at specifics. A few of the colleges I am interested in are Edinburgh, St. Andrews, Imperial, and University of Sydney. My question is, on average, how much would it cost to attend a foreign University (specifically the ones mentioned)? I've been looking at the home pages for individual colleges but I can't seem to find anything other than base tuition, and I realize that attending would cost quite a bit more than just tuition.

Any help appreciated, thanks

from what I've heard, tuition is appx 25,000 + airfare of course

not bad in the $20k range, but you do have to have proof that you can pay for it in order to get a student visa. I don't know if that means you can get individual loans or if you have to pay out of pocket. I hope its the former so I can study in the UK :)

^Same, what I think I am going to do though is study abroad my sophomore year and then, if I enjoy it and am able to convince my parents, apply for transfer.

Hi Atlas.
I am a student at the University of Sydney. I am currently trying to transfer out and study in the US. Sydney Uni is a really overrated university. It's HUGE! You are really just a number here. Plus, pretty much no-one lives on campus so it's hard to meet people. It's a commuter campus, that's for sure. People have class and then leave.
I'm not sure about UK universities but studying abroad at Sydney Uni would be a nightmare. I met a girl from McGill last year who was doing an exchange and she had a crap time.
Don't waste your time and money on Sydney Uni.
If your considering Australia, a smaller uni in a smaller city or even a town would be much better. Charles Sturt University at Bathurst is great if your interested in Journalism or Marketing.

Thanks for the imput Claire, I don't know if I would be able to handle that much isolation, which is why I am starting to lean more towards the boarding-school type universities.

I will be studying at the University of Edinburgh next year as a full-time student, and you can use loans to prove that you can pay for the entire course. :)

Sprite,
That's friggin awesome. My friend and I are dying to be in your position. So where were your loans through? Does the Uni do loans or did you finance them like a normal U.S college student would? It's a relief to know that the finances won't hold me back from studying in UK. Congrats

I'll be taking out regular US student loans. Edinburgh has a school code for doing the FAFSA and everything. I'll probably either be getting Stafford loans or from a private investor.

Just puttin a plug in for UofEdinburgh. Amazing city
