How come some schools do not show the cost per unit on the tuition fee charts?

Community colleges in California show them and even some CSUs. I can't find any for UCs unless its a summer program/class. But every time I look them up they don't show them. Is there a particular reason??

Should I take 500 units a semester/quarter to save money? lol!

Some schools have a set fee up to a number of credits and extra cost above that so the cost/credit would be variable. I would guess the UCs don’t have too many part time students.

I’d like to bump this thread, mainly because I find it disturbing that many people don’t question tuition cost. An example would be more helpful than an assumption as well.

Some fee applied after a certain amount of units. I could have easily came up with that.

UC’s don’t allow part-time students except under exceptional circumstances. I don’t see any mention of the number of credits you’re allowed to take in a semester, but as a practical matter you won’t be able to do more than 20 or so.

Each institution sets its own policies about this, so you really do have to read through the websites carefully. If you can’t find what you are looking for, call and ask. I do agree that it is confusing when you are looking at places that have very different policies!

Thanks guys for responding to such a broad question! I have been called schools and trying to dissect their specific policies. All part of the researching of colleges I guess.

Thank you
