I recently read a post about the cost of attending a particular school and it sounded rather high to me based on my memory from a 2 year old college search.
I did a little research and found the current cost and determined that the comprehensive fee increased $6475 in 2 years! ( a 25% increase)
I know that costs are likely to go up every year, but for a family really stretching to afford a financial reach this could be a disaster.
I just wanted to remind people to keep this in mind when they are trying to decide whether they can afford that "dream" school, because it could turn into a nightmare.
It makes the schools that guarantee tuition rates for 4 years sound even better!

When we discussed college costs we were advised to assume an average overall increase of 7-8% per year, which turned out to be the case. But yours is out of line! Sounds like you are speaking of a state university where the state budget hit a major shortfall, like we have been experiencing here in California.
