Alright guys.
So, I’m currently a sophomore and as far as I know, the time to apply for AP classes for next year is coming within the next few months. My goal for college is to major in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or something else health related. My plan for next year was AP Calc AB, AP Biology, AP Chem, AP English, Spanish 3 H, and probably CP US History. I don’t like history all that much, so I think It would be better to take AP Chem. Do you guys think this is too much? I know a lot of people plan to wait until senior year to do AP Chem, and that doing two sciences at once will be difficult. I just wanted to take 4 APs this year, and I like science. I have currently A’s in both Chemistry H and Biology H, which I’m taking at the same time this year currently. Does anyone have experience with both these classes and can give me advice?
I think you can do fine. I had a similar schedule with AP Chem, AP Calc, and AP Spanish all in the same semester. If you put in the work, you can succeed
My schedule is kinnnddddof similar? I’m taking AP Chem, APUSH, AP Lit, H Pre Calc, H Spanish IV, and Culinary Art. If you’re doing really well in Chem and Bio, then it should be fine. However, know that it will be difficult to manage both AP Bio and AP Chem. My friend had a near 100% in honors chemistry last year, but this year in AP Chem, I think she has a solid B. AP Chem builds off of the same things you learn in honors chem, just in more detail with higher difficulty. If I don’t study, I’m screwed for the tests. If I study enough, I manage to do pretty well. Make sure you really understand the concepts and not just the math part of chemistry. The concepts are the most important part. For AP Bio, I’ve heard memorization skills would be really useful. I haven’t heard much about it being hard. It should be manageable as long as you keep up good study habits!
I’ve heard that taking AP Bio and AP Chem is not a good idea because of how much time you have to spend for both of those classes.
