My essay is apparently amazing - Heard from two of my english teachers, a college guidance counselor, and other individuals from school.

My recommendations are amazing too - The teachers have great impressions of me.

Is the 43/45 your composite GPA? If so (and I’m not really sure how that works so I’m assuming its like a 3.88ish) I think Cornell is a low reach for you and Stanford is a high reach. You’re very competitive in the subjective part of your app (ECs and recs) but your GPA is (slightly above) average for Cornell and average for Stanford. Your SAT will realllllly hurt. It is slightly below average for Cornell and well below average for Stanford. If you could take it again and perhaps get a 2100-2400, that would really improve your chances. However, no one except an adcon will know for sure whether you get in so take my words with a grain of salt and best of luck!

Reach for Cornell and high reach for Stanford. You SAT is a little too low for these schools. The rest of the app seems good, though. Tons of ECs, although not many of them are focused on academics. Also, what’s your GPA roughtly converted to the 4-point scale?
Btw, your chances will increase significantly if your essays and recs really are as amazing as you say. I’d be skeptical about teachers’ feedback, though… I don’t think it’s a good sign if a teacher just said that your essay was amazing and didn’t offer any other suggestions.

Thank you for both your replies but could you comment on my newer post. Im not sure how to delete this one.
Anyways, my GPA comes to be a 4.0
Because - based on subjects only - the score is out of 42 and I got 41.
36/42 is a 4.0 on the GPA scale as IB is apparently very challenging . So a 41/42 is definitely a 4.0 (or higher)

@ ivanov2014 - my teachers gave me feedback - suggestions to improve the overall flow of the essay so they didnt just say it was good.

Actually reply on this post - the other post is kind of messed up. I like the flow of this one.
