My HLs are History, Geo, and English Lit Lang. I’ve just realized I wanted to apply for Econ major. Do I still have a chance - I cant take any AP tests since I’m graduating next year - if I read econ books constantly n self-study econ? Do I have to take Econ in high school to take it as a major in college? should I go for another major?
Thanks in advance!
You do not need to take economics in high school to major in economics.
You should be at least ready to take calculus when you enter college, since calculus is required by good economics majors.
Okay phew! Thank you for your reply I just had to make sure
What ucbalumnus said; you don’t need economics in high school. You can try to take at least one economics and one calculus, but it isn’t required.
Do try to read a few economics books at home, not as if for an exam, but as a normal book.
You don’t need to take economics in HS to major in it at college. Calculus is more helpful so make sure to take that sometime. Reading some econ books or watching some econ Khan Academy videos will be helpful to give you a foundation in economics before jumping right into it.
