Senior Action Plan:
Dual Enroll full time at GSU- this will possibly lower my class rank a few spots but will not affect my high school GPA

The CR is lacking in the SAT, but the Math score is fine, and the UWGPA is very good. I’d say you’re a match for Tech (but I’d retake the SAT if you can).

The SAT is around the median overall, but I’d assume it’s well above the median for Georgia applicants. I’d imagine that OOS admit inflate the overall CR+M to around 1340.

NTRIGHTS, please disregard the rubbish comments on SAT. It’s perfectly fine. Tech doesn’t care much about SAT score, as long as it’s in its median range. What’s most important is your grade, which is flawless (This also depends on the level of difficulty of course load). You have an almost clear cut for Tech, if you don’t mess up on the essay (If I’m mistaken, please correct me). Tech isn’t a very competitive school, so compare with the others, I can say the things you posted are good indicators to determine your profile in the case of Tech

id say you have a decent shot. being in state really does help. i like the GPA but increase number of APs your senior year. Also, if you need be try the ACT. Tech converts ACT scores into SAT scores…im part of that class of 2014…my SAT score was 1980…my SAT score after my ACT was converted…was 2070…so try out the ACT and see if you can score well on the english section in order to increase your SAT critical reading.

“Tech doesn’t care much about SAT score, as long as it’s in its median range. What’s most important is your grade”

I question the validity of that statement.

I had, what I think can be considered, above average SAT/ACT scores (2200 and 34). However, my gpa was only average (3.61). I took fairly challenging classes though (AP Calc Bc (ab: 5, bc:4), AP chem (4), APUSH, AP french (5), AP physics c: mech. (4), AP stats (5), AP English Lit (4)).

I think ultimately, the reason I got in is because I had fairly decent academic achievements combined with great EC’s (4year varsity sport, research, club involvement+leadership role in one of them). That said, I think that in general, from the people i’ve been around, GT looks for people who can achieve success in both academics and EC’s. Obviously, there are exceptions to that though. But that’s just my opinion. who knows what goes on in the office of admissions…
