Is it possible for me to which my current intended major (Computer Science) to Economics? Should I call them up and ask for them to switch? Or does it not even matter because they consider you as a general applicant to Purdue University and not as a specific applicant to the College of Science? I am doing this because CS is very competitive and I would like to switch majors to something I enjoy more and that is less competitive.
I would contact them. It would probably be easier to switch to Economics than to CS. You might also check and see what the first year curriculum for each major looks like. You could contact the departments. I believe they are both in the college of Science so one conversation may answer your questions. If it’s similar you might consider waiting to switch. I think it would more difficult to change back to computer science than to change to Economics later.
