Could i get in priority at UMCP/UMBC honors program?

G.P.A-3.50

SAT-1300/2400(really low), taking the ACT, should do better

Senior year classes: A.P. Biology, A.P. Calculus, A.P English/Lit, don't know if it helps but i am also taking A.P psychology on the side because i couldn't fit into my schedule, have taken honor classes throughout highschool and have over 6 math credits.

E.C's- Vice President of Interact/Rotary Club, Science Fair club, volunteered at public library/school library, participated in chemathon(one of 6 members who represented our high school for the very first time). I shoud be top 25 % of class or 15%(don't know yet), volunteering at the Washington Hospital center in the department of Radiology, in National Honor Society, participated in student leadership program(i have proof with certificate).

I should have a pretty good essay and i should have over 400 community service hours before i apply, should have good reccommendations(getting them from Radiologist, guidance counsler, math and science teachers from A.P and honors, government teacher(honors), library(Public and school), and my A.P. English/lit teacher. As you can see, i want a variety.

Background: I am an African American with an income a little bit higher than 50,000, plus i am in state, which i heard helps.

I want to apply to University of Maryland College Park-Priority and University of Maryland Baltimore County(honors program), do i have a good chance.

Thanks to anyone who answered.

Could someone please reply, i really want to know if i can get in to University of Maryland-College park, priority

If you can get that SAT score higher (think 1700-1800, but I don't know that much about UMD admissions) or get a good ACT score, then you're probably in both places. UMBC will be easier. As for the honors program, at College Park you'd need an SAT score above 2000 (and that wouldn't guarantee anything – my brother applied in-state with a 3.8 and 2160 and didn't get honors) to have a shot.

Prediction: With higher test scores, in at both, but honors at neither.

Please remember that I'm a high school senior, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

Try and find stats so you know what to aim for with your test scores.
