Could I get in to BROWN or DARTMOUTH?

Im currently a junior. My cumulative GPA is 3.85, and I'm in the top 20% of my class. I take the ACT April 13th and expect to do well on it. I've taken Honors classes and am enrolled in 2 AP classes next year.

I letter varsity on our Tennis team. I'm also a member of our school's Muay Thai club and participate in local trail runs. I was recently elected Secretary of our National Honor Society chapter. I also do a lot of community service for my church youth group, and have over 85 internship hours at my local fire department. I also plan on getting a summer job. I am also a member of Business Professionals of America (BPA).

Could I get in to Brown or Dartmouth?

Your gpa is competitive with what they accept, but without your act scores it’s hard to say. However, even if you had a perfect gpa and perfect test scores, Ivy League schools such as brown and Dartmouth are still reaches. You just can never tell. Your EC’s are pretty good, especially the commitment that you’ve shown. Perhaps trying to get a national honor in something would be helpful(easier said than done).
I’d say both are reaches(they are no matter what)
Mind chancing me?

Unless the course load you describe is the most rigorous your schooloffers, or you are an athletic recruit, you need to step it up. Look at the stats for accepted/rejected students in the forums. 2 APs, top 20% is not going to be enough by itself.

PEOPLE:
DO NOT POST CHANCE THREADS WITHOUT YOUR SAT/ACT score.

The only answer you will get from me in “Chance Me” threads without a SAT/ACT score (other than for a test-optional college) will be formatted “Aim for X+/Y+” if it isn’t a reach for anyone. That said, here’s my verdict:

Brown: Aim for 2150+/32+
Dartmouth: Aim for 2150+/32+

If your GPA stays where it is, I would say you should aim for higher scores than Catria indicated.
