Could I Get In

I'm a California resident and I'm interested in UW.
Here are my stats...

GPA = 3.76UW/4.03W
SAT= M(710)V(640)W(650) = 1350/2000
Rank = ~20/700 = Around top 3-4%
EC's = EC's: Tennis (4 years, "most consistent player", co-captain), Volleyball Club (3 years, treasurer), Sign Language Club (3 years), Journalism (2 years, features editor), Foreign Foods Club (2 years, vice president), Key Club (4 years, vice president), Relay 4 Life (5 years, big thing bc 2 of my immediate family members have cancer), Recycling Club (2 yrs), CSF (all of high school, vice president), Early Academic Outreach Program (3 yrs.)

According to the UW admissions chart (<a href="http://www.admissions.wisc.edu/images/freshmanExpectations2006.pdf)%5B/url%5D">http://www.admissions.wisc.edu/images/freshmanExpectations2006.pdf)</a>, you have between an 80-90% chance at getting in based on academics alone. Your extra-curriculars will help you out even more. In my opinion (not that it matters) you're fine.

That should work. What major?

you're good to go.

I plan to major in either business (finance, accounting, marketing) or atmospheric and oceanic sciences.

Is it harder to get into the business school?

You apply after two years--need around a 3.3-3.4 in pre-business. Atmospheric sciences is very very good but pretty hard (Math+).

They really don't look at the major when you apply to get into UW. All the competitive majors take you after a year or two and you need good grades.

no problem >.< u should go some better college for other students to go in :P
