umm I think you can get in. :)
well, since you are not majoring in engineering or archi...
I think you have a good chance..
I am the one who is the problem.
Your GPA seems to be ok, compare to mine...
and Cals do not really look up for SATs.. and ECs.. but
you have excellent ECs :D
Good luck :)

Even though mine is worse than yours, please wish me a luck.. T^T

thanks luckeyg!

what's your gpa? i'm sure there's still hope for you. good luck!

they don't really look at SAT's or EC's?

and thanks again!

cal poly looks at a weighted gpa from 10th and 11th grade. you get up to 8 honors points. that might raise your grade.

i'd say you're in. my friend got in this year early decision for english with similar SAT scores, but i'm not sure what his gpa was.

cal poly doesn't care about your ECs though. they only ask whether or not you have a job, how many hours, and if it's major related. they also ask if you've held any leadership roles and that's about it regarding ECs.

Well, they do.. but not as much as UCs..
Like they only look up CR and Math.. and do not look at SAT II...
So.. yea.. What I heard from my friend who applied to Cal Poly SLO was that they have only 5 blanks to put your ECs, and it had to be done within a year.

Oh, and my GPA is like 3.42.. I SERIOUSLY regret that I took so many APs..
That was my biggest mistake..

Also, if you live in California, you have higher chance to get in :D..

Hopefully we can see each other at Cal Poly :) LOL!!!

GOOD LUCK.. oh, and I suggest you to take SAT on this October...
if you can get like over 1300 for CR and MATH, I think you are in :)

I had a lackluster 3.2 GPA from an academic high school, and 710 Math, 690 CR SAT scores and got into Cal Poly business school. If you want to apply to a school, just do it, and if you don't get it, appeal. What do you have to lose?

nirvana, I don't want to rain on your parade but Cal Poly is quite competitve. I would definately say "go for it" but temper it with a bit of realism. It is a popular school for kids across the state, so just be aware that you need to have other choices to apply to. You might try doing a bit of digging to see how other applicants with similar scores/gpa have fared with Cal Poly. Remember also that there will be record numbers of students applying this year...good luck!
