Hi,
This is my first post so excuse anything out of the ordinary
I have a 4.9 weighted GPA and 3.9 unweighted
I have a 1930 on my first ever SAT (not planning on using it)
I have a composite 32.25 on my ACT and am planning on taking it again
The first time I took the ACT I got
English: 34
Math: 28
Reading: 30
Science: 30
But the second time I got
English: 35
Math: 30
Reading: 34
Science: 25
I recognize the drastic drop in my science score and I am working on remedying it.
I have, in my opinion, great extracurriculars. I am extremely involved in theater both inside and outside my school and have been in a professional conservatory twice. Next year I will be the first student to ever direct the mainstage show at my school. I also will be the president of two clubs and will be in my school's Jazz Band. I was also a nominee for NC Governor's School. I have a lot of other extracurriculars I am forgetting but, nevertheless, I am sufficiently strong in that area. Another crucial bit of information is that I am a double legacy at Duke. What are my chances of getting accepted regular decision next year? What about ED?
Thanks so much!

Well, your highest ACT is a 31 (I am PRETTY sure Duke doesn’t super score…)
Your GPA indicates that EVERY SINGLE class you took was AP or honors… yes? Have you taken EVERY AP/honors you can (meaning, if there is AP US history you don’t just take regular)

While those EC’s are good, they are by no means “incredible”.

You “will be” in Jazz band? Ad coms won’t care about a one year commitment.

Overall, as it stands now, Duke is definitely a mid reach.

I have taken the highest level course I could in every class and even though I will be in Jazz band for one year I have been playing since 7th grade

Well that’s fine, but if you want to count “Jazz Band” as an EC, I would advise against it.
