Could I get into Emory? What are my chances?

•Asian… and out of state
• Lower middle class
• 3.95 GPA weighted 5.188 unweighted
• I’m dual enrolled at a small university and I take classes as a university undergrad while recieving both highschool and college credits.
• I do research with a Biomedical Professor and am a co author for a publication in a low impact journal.
• I don’t really do clubs because the timing is usually late at night and I’m still being driven around by my parents. But I am part of a medical club at my hs
• I got a 1420 on the SAT first try (planning to retake later) with 680 ERBW and 740 math
• 7/5/7 for essay which was disappointing because I thought I’d so better on the analysis…
• Really hoping to qualify for national merit. I got a 219 index for PSAT this year.
• I also did piano, but no competitions. I volunteer at a hospital and I’m a youth leader at my church.
• I’ve been to Haiti twice for missionary work
• I speak Japanese at an elementary level and I also speak Korean with limited working proficiency
• I’m planning to do kendo sometime next year and to join a club or two.
• I’m intending to apply as a Bio Major if that changes anything
I listed a lot, but I honestly want to know my chances…

I did AP world history too and got a 5. Only AP class I ever took but it was really fun. I did Classical piano for over 10 years.

@kynurenic are you currently a junior? And are your UW and W GPAs flip flopped?

@TheTennisNinja oh, yes I accidentally flipped my weighted and unweighted. Thank you for pointing that out. I’m currently a junior.

@kynurenic do you have a class rank?

@TheTennisNinja My school doesn’t give class rank. The entire school from K-12 is a little over a thousand kids so it’s a small school.
