Could I get into JMU?

James Madison University

I am a junior and my GPA (unweighted) is 3.93, my SAT is kind of low and I’m not sure I want to take it again or try to ACT or none, it’s a 1490. I have taken 5 AP classes and I am taking 3 more next year-freshman and sophomore years I took all pre-ap classes. I’m in my schools top 2 auditioned choirs(second year in a row and made it for next year), in environmental club-I am the secretary, Junior Civitans club, Key Club, and National Honor Society. I am on the varsity crew team(all 4 years) and have been in Girl Scouts since I was 5 and have reviewed my bronze and silver awards and I am currently working on my Gold Award.

What are my chances of getting into JMU? And do I have to take the SAT/ACT again?

Any chance you’re a URM? That might help things.

Is 1490 on all three sections? If so your SATs are well below the middle 50% for JMU (1180 to 1270 CR+M) so I would retake.

Would your Gold Award be finished by the time you apply? That would also help.
