Could I get into Macalester (and similar colleges)?

<p>I'm thinking about applying to Macalester early decision. Let me know if you think I'd get in! If that doesn't happen, I'm also thinking about Reed College, Grinnell College, Oberlin College, and Scripps College.</p>

<p>PSAT: 187
ACT: 30 (32E, 29M, 34R, 31S, 9W)
GPA: 4.2 (I don't know UW)</p>

<p>AP classes taken (and currently taking): Human Geography, US History, Biology, European History, Environmental Science, English Lang & Comp, English Lit & Comp, Art History, World History, Music Theory, Calc AB, Comp gov, Macroecon</p>

<p>Honors/Awards?: Honor Roll, lettered 3 times in academics & orchestra, Italian Student Recognition Award, AP Scholar with Distinction</p>

<p>Extracurriculars/Volunteer: school's chamber orchestra, 1st chair bassist in community-type symphony, junior counselor at a non-profit day camp, volunteer at an organization that provides free business attire for women in need, Model UN (this coming year), rowing (grade 9 only), nannying over summer</p>

<p>I believe you have a decent shot at Macalester. Along with, Oberlin, Reed, and Scripps, Macalester would still be a low reach- reach, but you definitely have a good shot at getting in. Grinnell, IMO,is slightly easier, so I would say a match-high match.</p>
