Could I get into Northwestern?

I’m currently a junior enrolled in the IB diploma at a public school. I’m white and a female. Prior to this year, I took all accelerated classes, and had a 4.0. This year, as the IB diploma started, I’ve earned 3 A- s, bringing my GPA down slightly (however not my class rank, since the classes are weighted 1.0) I’m currently ranked 9th in my class of 267. My IB classes are
IB English HL
IB Physics HL
IB Psychology HL
IB Bio SL
IB French SL
IB Math SL
And I plan on taking the AP calc and AP french exams. I’ll also take AP Econ my senior year.

As for extracurriculars, I’m the a captain on my school’s field hockey team, and am the hurdle captain for the track team. I’m the president of a large club in my school, and have been in my school’s band for eight years. I’m in the National Honors Society as well, as well as involved in a few other clubs. Is this enough to get me into Northwestern?

What are your test scores?

I took the ACT and got a 34, and am going to take the SAT, but am predicted to get a 2200.

I think you’ll have a good chance at Northwestern, especially if you do ED.

Your 34 ACT is already good enough since it’s roughly equal to a 2250 SAT. I wouldn’t take the SAT unless you can exceed that.

Nothing will simply “get you into Northwestern”, but you are in a situation where, if you frame your application well, write good essays, and get good recommendations, you have a decent chance of getting accepted. That does not mean, however, that you are a shoe-in; pretty much nobody is, unless you’re a recruited athlete or 10x legacy with super stats.

If you really like Northwestern, you could apply ED; you’d have a significantly higher chance of getting in there than RD.

You will be a very competitive applicant.
Good luck.
