Could I get into the University of Pittsburgh?

Hello everyone, I am currently a sophmore in high school and I DESPERATELY want to become a doctor. So I figured I might want to go the regular route to becoming a doctor (which would primarily begin with 4 years undergraduate school). With that being said, Pitt is my first choice for undergraduate school which I want to attend and major in BIOLOGY in. This is because of the fact that my mom is a research analyst at Pitt and I can attend that school for undergraduate entirely FREE. In terms of my freshman year in high school, I was dissapointed as I ended up with a 3.6 gpa at the end of the year. This year I am really trying to buckle down and get a 4.0....

My extracirriculars include:
-debate
-National Junior Honors Society
-chess club
-a sport in the near future
-UPMC passavant volunteering in the future (once my application goes through)

And yes I hav't taken the SATs yet but I plan to do well on them junior year (2000+)
So basically I was wondering what my chances are at Pitt as it stands now and what I can do in the future to improve my chances....

PS. I DONT want to do the BS/MD program

Someone please respond!

Can someone please respond???!!!

You’re on the right track.

Some schools will require you to disclose any family connections you have at the school. I wouldn’t do it if they don’t require it since no school likes to suffer a financial hit through family connections.

You should definitely consider more school in case your first choice turns you down, although you like fine for now as long as you follow the plan you have established.

A 3.6 is high enough that you could realistically get into Pitt with decent scores/ECs. That being said you are only a sophomore, calm down and come back in 1-2 years.
