Could I get into UH?

Im a Senior currently in HS. So recently my mom pulled the rug out from under me and told me we’re relocating to Houston, TX. I had all my effort put into getting into UNLV in Vegas (where we are currently) and Im a little more than upset. I’d move out and just attend UNLV but upon telling my mom I’d move out and pay for my own school and apartment, she got really angry and withheld anything I’d need to live on my own, (social security number, birth certificate, etc) she also changed all my bank account passwords and numbers so I couldn’t “run off in the middle of the night”.

I don’t want to go to UofH because I know my grades wouldn’t even get my application open and all I’ve done is Forensics for all 4 years of HS. I’m retaking my SAT to get a higher score but I know I’ve got no chance. And community college isn’t an option because my mom doesn’t want to “waste her time”. UHD is also out since it’ll be too far from where we’ll live (I haven’t been told where exactly, but apparently it’d be away from all the campuses. So…thanks mom)

So if you kind people would humor me for a moment, suppose I apply with a 3.4 GPA and currently a 940 SAT, could I get in? I ask also since UNLV requires EITHER an 1120 SAT score or a 3.4 GPA and U of H sounds like it needs both a decent score and gpa.

Scroll down. You definitely have the stats to get in.
I feel for you dude, sorry :frowning:
Tell her to sit down and talk. Maybe she just had a few bad days.

See if you can figure out where in the Houston are you will be living. There are several UH related campuses, HCC and Lone Star are jr colleges with multiple locations. UH-D and TSU are open enrollment but I don’t know what the transfer out requirements would be.

@TQfromtheU TSU is not open enrollment.

Thanks @NuScholar – I missed that both schools are no longer open enrollment/admissions.
