What is your unweighted GPA? Wake superscores, which is good news for you. A 32 is in the 75th percentile, so you fall in the range beautifully. Decent EC’s but nothing special. I think you have a good chance at Wake given that your uw GPA is decent
@autaut Chancing people for Wake Forest is difficult. In the past five years, the acceptance rate has taken a nose dive; accordingly, the statistics change significantly every year. With that said, I’ll tell you what I’ve seen most recently in 2017. First of all, the vast majority of students have a weighted GPA over 4.0. All schools are different, though, so it’s not the end of the world. Perhaps a more useful statistic involves class rank. Considering that 50% of high schools rank, 90% of accepted students enjoy a class rank in the top 10% of their high school class. Better yet, 61% of admitted students held a rank in the top 5%. I have no clue where you fall, so you can figure this out for yourself. *Remember that these statistics include recruited athletes.
Looking at your other information, I’d say the senior year schedule is a little underwhelming, but if you’re looking into engineering, the courses you are taking make sense. In addition, everyone has a lot of EC’s, and so do you, so I wouldn’t worry about that. As for the standardized tests, I definitely would not send the SAT unless you retake it. On the other hand, definitely send your ACT. A 32 superscore is very good at Wake.
Looking at the raw data you provided, I’m not sure you’ll get in. I’m basing my assessment heavily off of the GPA and academic record. Granted, statistics aren’t perfect, so you never know. By all means, I hope that you prove me wrong and get accepted! If you’re really serious about Wake, I’d recommend applying ED (like you said) and scheduling an interview. Both improve your chances to an extent. Hope this helps you, and best of luck!
My unweighted should be around 3.8. As for class rank, my school doesn’t provide one but my college counselor said I should fall around 10%. I wish I could increase the rigor of a lot of my classes but my school doesn’t provide official AP classes and doesn’t offer many advanced courses. I’m interviewing late July and hopefully will have my application in by the end of summer. Thanks!
