Hi, I am a high school sophomore and I was wondering if I would have a chance of getting accepted into Yale University. Please give me your honest opinion.

I am a white female from one of the top public schools in Michigan. I have an unweighted GPA of 3.9; I took my first AP class this year, I will take 4 more next year and 5 senior year. All of my other classes have been honors courses or taken to fill requirements. My school does not rank, but my counselor thinks I am at least in the top 15% of my class. Also, I will take AP Chem, AP Bio, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and 5 years of Spanish. I am fairly certain I want to major in Chemistry and possibly do another major in Spanish.

Besides school, I am involved in many extracurricular activities. I am the varsity field hockey goalie (and a captain), I was the captain of my freshman basketball team, this year I was a speaking role in our school musical, I have played JV softball for two years, and I am also the lead vocalist in a band. I plan on being a part of the NHS next year, volunteering at a local Spanish-speaking hospital, joining the improv comedy team, and doing the talent show (along with keeping the musical, field hockey, and softball).

I have also been given high academic honors by my school for two years in a row, I received a $250 scholarship from the Knights of Columbus at my church for volunteering (I helped kids with special needs), and I volunteer at a local haunted house every October.

Since I am a sophomore, I have not officially taken the SAT or ACT, but I have taken practice tests that have had fairly good results (one practice ACT gave me the equivalent of a 36). I plan on taking both tests.

Yale is my dream school, but I realize that my chances are slim. I would appreciate any advice on how to increase my chances as well. Thanks!
