I procrastinated on college apps big time, so there's really no way I'm getting my UNC app in by the early action deadline.

With that said, I know that the majority of UNC merit aid goes to people who apply early, but is there still some aid available for RD applicants? Also, how hard is it to get this aid? I have perfect GPA/SAT and decent ECs and stuff, would I have a shot at getting some merit aid?

I'm OOS, so the sticker price for UNC is about $45k for me. I need to get that number down to 15-20k after financial and merit aid to really be able to afford it. My income bracket is ~100k, so I'm hoping for some need-based aid. Can I reasonably expect my final price to be in this range?

I know in the past, UNC has had two scholarship days. The first is for EA and I believe that the second is for both EA and regular applicants. So you still have a chance but you would have a better chance with EA. Merit aid is extremely competitive. Even perfect stats doesn’t guarantee merit aid. Last year, they invited roughly 350-400 students total to the scholarship days.

UNC does meet full need by their definition based on the Profile. As an OSS, I do not know if you will receive aid with a income of 100K. It will depend on many variables (income, assets, etc). I would guess that hoping for 30K in need base aid might not be realistic.

I would still apply. If they really want you, they might sweeten the FA package.

Merit aid is definitely not guaranteed. But, you might have a shot. As far as need based aid goes, I’m currently here on a full ride but 100k is a lot to expect a ton of aid from any school. Carolina is MUCH better than most places, but I wouldn’t expect it to be cheaper than an in state school.
