I’m usually an A-B student with a decent 3.74 GPA. However, this first semester I got at C in Pre-Calculus. All my other grades are A’s and one B with the C being the only one I’ve ever gotten. I’m already worried about my GPA dropping, but could this get me rescinded from U of M? I’m sure it’ll raise some flags and I’m just concerned because it is the first C I’ve gotten before. I know I’m probably overreacting, but I’m really worried.
The general rule is to avoid D’s F’s and felonies. You should be fine.
One C is fine if your remaining grades are Bs and As.
At U-M, all incoming freshman are required to submit a final high school transcript once they graduate. If grades from senior year include an F, a D, or three or more Cs, the student’s admission is reassessed by a university grade review committee. The committee takes another look at the grades, as well as a written explanation that the incoming student is required to provide.
You’re fine, don’t get anymore and you will be a-okay.
From an information session years ago, they have around 50 admitted students got rescinded each year.
