Hey guys! I'm a fairly new member to this forum, but I've been reading posts by other people for a while and decided to join!

Next school year I'm going to be a Junior, and I'm currently enrolled in the IB Programme. I'm very ashamed to say that I really slacked off during my first two years of high school. My grades are all decent (Mostly As, and a few Bs) and I've taken all honors/pre-ib classes, but I just haven't gotten super involved with EC's. My only significant ones at this point are Tennis and Debate (Pathetic right?). I also haven't taken any standardized tests yet.

Over the past few weeks I've begun to realize how much I've been slacking for these past few school years, and I've decided to make a huge change. Here is what I'm planning on doing:
-Make straight A's during my junior and senior year.
-Study for the SAT/ACT and do as well as possible.
-Put more effort into debate and tennis
-Join math club (Math is easily my favorite subject, so I think I will do very well in that)
-Be in Mu Alpha Theta
-Be a Science Olympiad
-Volunteer at the library, as well as a few other places.
-Tutor younger kids in math.

Now, I realize that a lot of these goals are fairly vague but I'm going to try to figure out the specifics as time goes on. Are there other things that you recommend me doing? Is it still possible for me to get into a good University? My dream school is NYU, but BU looks like a decent back up school as well.

Thanks for the tips/advice!
