Could I make it in EA?

Hi Everyone! I was wondering if it would be a good idea for me to apply EA. I was also wondering what my chances are and if there is any way I can improve my app. as Notre Dame is my top choice.

I was selected to take part in a mentoring program next year called trailblazers where seniors go to local elementary schools for an hour every day

I worked very hard to get a program started at my school called Reaching Higher. It is basically a program on self empowerment.

It is hard to say anything without knowing your rank for sure, but based on the info above I would say things look good for EA.

You can always talk to your regional admissions counselor who will be able to help you. It is a great opportunity to make some connections with him/her and this can pay off in the end. When looking at EA, I always tell people that if you will have more to add to your resume in December, wait and apply RD. If you have nothing more to add and no honors will come in between the two months and your essays are as good as they will get, then apply EA. If you get rejected EA, then you would not get in RD. However, if you an ok application and go EA and then get another award, get a 2100 on the SAT, write a much better essay, but get rejected then you made a mistake because if you went RD then all those things would enhance your application but they won’t review it anymore. If your application is complete go EA if you don’t think it is by the EA deadline, go RD.

Also EA can be deceiving b/c if you don’t get a decision it is an extremely long wait until April.
