My current SAT score is an 1870 (it was my first time, I didn't really student much...) and my ACT score is a 26 (I didn't study or prep in any way... I was sort of like tf when I took it so...). I plan to retake both and I've been studying (yay), I hope to get at least a 2000 and a 30 (which I know, many of you probably consider these scores to be low, if you can get a 2400 easily, good for you, not all of us are blessed with that level of intelligence -_- Sorry if I sound bitter). Anyhow, my gpa is a 3.76 unweighted 4.69 unweighted, I'm in national honor society, mu alpha theta, safe club, senior class council, debate club, a community service organization called lanes, I tutor, and I used to be in marching/concert band but had to quit this year for financial reasons, I've never participated in any sports for financial reasons (is that bad, I know colleges want a "well rounded" type of student). This is my reach school, I know my scores aren't all that great, heck, my mom does't even want me to go here (she keeps going on about how "we have no family up there" and "New York is a big city") but is there a chance? Any chance? Oh and also financial aid... I'm broke and so are my parents so....

NYU is notoriously expensive and bad for FA. Find a school that is financially doable.

My sister is an NYU freshman this year and she’s planning on transferring after the year. Financial aid didn’t help her much and she didn’t like the school culture much If you’re still interested though, her highest ACT score was a 29, but she was rank one in our school. Her weighted GPA was a 4.5, unweighted 4.0. She was the secretary all 3 years of NHS and volunteered extensively.

bump

With a score of 2000 on the SAT or 30 on the ACT, I would say 85% chance.
