I just started my senior year and my new schedule is not the best. Originally I was going to take pre-calculus, but I had to drop it in order to keep my AP American Government class because the two were scheduled at the same time. Since my school requires us to take a math class every year, I had to take statistics to replace pre-calculus. My question is would it be possible for me to take and (hopefully) pass the AP stats exam without taking an AP Statistics class (my school doesn't offer it)? Also, would being in a regular statistics class make studying for the exam easier or harder? I'm pretty good at math (I got a 30 on the ACT math portion and an A in Algebra 2) and I'm not a stranger to AP/Honors classes so this wouldn't be the first AP exam I took, but it would be the first time for me to take the exam without the class so I'm sort of lost. Thanks!

The AP exams aren’t until may. Colleges won’t be able to see it.
If you are doing it for college credit then yes you can take the AP exam without the class. You need to self study.

I knew they weren’t until May, I just wanted to know if Statistics was a class that I could self study without too much trouble (well partially self study I guess since I’ll still have to take regular stats as part of my hs grad requirement so I was just going to use exam reviews and maybe an ap text book to supplement and go beyond whatever I learned in class.) And yeah, I knew that colleges weren’t going to see it I just want to try to earn credit. Thanks though.
