My gpa and class rank sucks (3.4 weighted, 162 of 364), but in the end of my junior year I was diagnosed with adhd inattentive type. I got excellent grades in the last term, so my question is would top schools be lenient on me or am I screwed. The only ec I'm in is key club and I received a 28 on my act (without extended time because it was before I was diagnosed.)

Well what schools are you aiming for? You still have a good gpa considering how it affected you. In my opinion make it positive. Write your college essays about them.

i don’t think Adhd will affect your admissions but i certainly don’t think you have much of a chance to get into “top schools” if you mean top 20 schools. i’m not saying you can’t get in at all. like SI said- turn it into a positive. but i don’t think the chance is good.

GMan

Very tough question for anyone here (i.e., amateur kibbutzers) to answer. I think you need to talk to a GC or have an interview or two with Admissions Officers (not alumns) to discuss this candidly, and see how it would impact on your application.
