Could someone chance me? Do I need more stuff?

I am a junior at a small private school in Dublin CA( I got in on scholarship), and I am interested in mechanical engineering.

I was thinking about these schools:
MIT
Caltech
Stanford
U Michigan
UC Berkeley
Georgia Tech
Harvey-Mudd
Purdue

GPA: 4.57 W, 4.0 UW
SAT: 2300: 740 CR // 770 Math // 790 W

APs:
Calc BC: 5
Euro: 5
Compsci: 5

This year I'm gonna do AP Chem, Physics B, Physics C Mech and E&M(self studying for the C ones). I'm also in the International Baccalaureate Program.

IB Classes:
Physics HL
Chem HL
Further Math HL
History HL
Eng SL
Chinese ab inito

I also took a college level math class at UC Berkeley over the summer, I got an A.

ECs:
Robotics(FTC, captain)
Journalism(editor)
sophomore class rep, junior class president
Model UN(no awards)
Guitar(I'm in a band and I've played in some school shows)

Volunteering:
Volunteered at the Lawrence Hall of Science over the summer(40 hours)
Food Drive(5 hours)
McHenry Homeless Shelter(5 hours)
School of Dreams Malawi(20 hours)

I also tutor for 3 hours a week.

Ethnicity/Gender: Indian Male

I feel like my academics are good, but my ECs and volunteering aren't good enough to get me into these schools. What more should I do?

Since you have only one summer left, I would suggest trying to get a major-related internship and maybe take some more college classes?

I’m applying for a bunch of internships, though I’m not certain about them. I was also thinking of maybe starting a local Habitat for Humanity chapter at my school, or would that be futile at this point?

All the public universities should be accepts. If you really want to, do start a Habitat for Humanity club at your school – don’t do it for the college, do it because you care. If your ECs come with bunch of awards/positions, I wouldn’t worry about the lack of volunteering. The goal is to do something with your time that’s not just studying and video games.

I think Harvey Mudd is totally possible, and as with everyone, Stanford, MIT,and Caltech can never be guaranteed (well, I mean you could win STS, but that’s something incredible).
