These colleges are a sampling from an online list (“The Experts’ Choice: Colleges with Great Pre-med Programs”): Bates, Colgate, Grinnell Hamilton, Carleton, Amherst and Pomona. These schools are highly selective, however. See the entire list for more excellent choices, including some that are less selective.
I would suggest not apply to all three of Brown, Cornell and UChicago. Maybe pick one for a super reach. The applications are very long and unless you have some hook (legacy, URM, athlete, disability, you cured cancer) that you aren’t stating your chances are very very low. For those three schools your competition has all 5’s on AP’s, above 700 on SAT I sections and 770+ on SAT II’s.
Of your twelve schools, you are likely to get into at least eight of them. I would look at those eight first, then examine what you like or dislike about each one. If a particular school does not appeal to you for one or more reasons, consider not applying to it. I’d keep UR. If you would like to pursue your education in a purely undergraduate focused environment in proximity of nature and with solid biochemistry, add a college or two from post #3 or a school with similar qualities from the greater list within it. In terms of Cornell, which of their undergraduate schools would you like to attend?
I know you didn’t ask about the cost of attendance but many of those schools do not promise to meet a student’s financial need. I’d run the net price calculators on each site and be sure to have financial fits that are also academic matches.
(If your parents can pay full price, feel free to ignore.)
Are there other state schools you’d consider? Or look at schools where your very good scores would get you automatic merit $$$.
The only thing holding you back from a cornell, chicago, or wustl is the sat reading. Other than that everything looks good. Did You do any other volunteering? I think your chances for places like georgetown, emory, and UNC are greater than places like U chicago.
