I have been reading in several threads about the school profiles that the GC sends in with the letter of recommendation. I homeschool my son, so I am curious as to what information the school profile provides.

I did a google for school profiles, but I didn't get anything that looks like what everyone is talking about.

Thanks!!

Many high schools or school districts have their profiles available on their websites, if you are interested in checking your local schools.

Thanks so much...that helped!

I was also curious about this. Thanks to those who provided the links. I was particularly impressed with F-M's profile -- it provided much more information in two pages than what I think is my S' school profile does in 7!

That's reassuring! I sometimes think F-M's is too generic. but adcoms must know what they're looking for and have probably developed the ability to analyze a school's profile quickly (and, one hopes, accurately). I wonder how helpful the profile really is in putting a student's record into context if it's the first time the adcom has ever received an app from that particular high school.

Small world Iderochi. My husband and I both grew up in Delaware. Me in Milford and him in Newark. You're right in between! Interesting state, eh?

KathieP -- Yep, smack dab in the middle of the state (Magnolia). We've enjoyed it so far. Nice to be so near the beaches, and the beaches aren't terribly crowed. Rehoboth is great fun. The only "issues" we have are the wind (my God does it EVER stop blowing? After a good storm our neighborhood generally spends a day swapping out the lawn furniture that's migrated to different houses) and the lack of a local airport. I travel a lot and driving to Philadelphia or Baltimore gets to be a pain.

Small Wonder indeed!
