fyi you can't decide whether or not to send SAT scores, you have to send all of them

You only need to send either your ACT or all your SATs 'n' stuff. I guess colleges think that the ACT is some sort of magical, all-encompassing supertest. Stats look good, but this probably belongs in the "What Are My Chances?" forum.

You played at Carnegie Hall?!? Whow.

i'm confused about that. so the ACT doesn't take care of ACTs and SATs?

Nevertheless, some schools still require two SAT II's with the ACT. Look here: http://www.compassprep.com/admissions_req_subjects.aspx

yea my band did- it was amazing. i know i put it in that forum and no one answered :( lol

this site is great.. thank you sooo much!

i'm pretty sure student of the months/honor rolls can't be counted... and the nylf isn't very presitigiuos, but otherwise everything is good, well rounded etc. 34 act pretty impressive, but if you think about it... a 34 act is pretty much the same as the 2200-2250 range for sat's and u could opt to just use ur 2200

My jazz band played in the Starlight Cafe or whatever it's called in Magic Kingdom on the stage that comes out of the floor... but that's as close as I can come... what is this forum of which you speak?

oh i was talking about the "what are my chances" forum- nothing to do with the band. that's awesome though!!!

actually, 34 is more in the 2250-2300 range, so I would definitely put that. most schools require 2 (or even 3) sat ii's in addition to the act, though some don't.

out of curiosity, how is georgetown a reach but cornell and northwestern matches? ;)

Ohhh, I see. That's sad that no one replied. I will cry for you. Our marching band also marched down Main Street, USA (in the dark and pouring rain, no less) and our wind ensemble played in some pavillion or other with a guest trumpet player (we did Bugler's Holiday and Carnival of Venice - that was pretty sweet too).

i've been told gtown is very hard to get into when u don't go to private school and are not catholic (i am protestant). i guess cornell are kind of more match/reach. lol

wow your band must be awesome. ours really isnt THAT great lol. i really don't know how we got to play at carnegie. but like it was a special night for high school bands so i guess thats not too prestigious.

Ours is pretty good, I guess, but it was still a high school band program. "Magic Music Days," or something. We basically went to Orlando for four days, did all that stuff, and frolicked around DisneyWorld the rest of the time. DisneyWorld is the best without parents!

haha lucky. all we got was a nyc dinner in a blizzard. haha bc i'm from ny.. only like 45 min away from the city

lol, I'm in Michigan... and we went in February... it was pretty nice.

heh...our orchestra went to that magic music days thing when i was a freshman. fun times :)

And now that we've completely and utterly hijacked this poor chica's thread... let's talk about band s'more!

Our band goes every three years, I went as a sophomore, hopefully I'll be able to chaperone the next trip with some cool peeps. I heart DisneyWorld.

I'm not in band, but I still thought I would chime in. Our choir goes to Magic Music Days every 4 years, and I got to go last year. Definitely good times!
