Could someone help?

Okay.
Back when I submitted my Boston University application, I put my intended school as COM.
However, now I’m really sure if I want to major in COM because I’m taking sociology this semester and it’s honestly something that I would consider majoring in.
Should I call admissions and tell them to switch me to CAS or is it better to wait until after admission notifications are released?
The reason I am hesitating is because my entire “Why BU?” essay is about the PRlab at COM lol.

Hmm that is a tough decision. Applying to CAS will increase your chances of getting in, but if you get into COM, then you are free to move around as you please. Personally I would wait until you hear back from them because of the fact that your “Why BU” essay was written about COM and it may show commitment issues in the eyes of an admissions officer. Good luck! I got in ED so maybe we’ll be future classmen together! :slight_smile:

Congratulations @skidreamer! That’s so exciting! ^^ What school did you get admitted to?
Is CAS an easier school than COM? Or they comparable? I have no idea haha.
Luckily, I didn’t declare a major within COM because I had no clue, so I’ve got that on my side ><
But I would definitely consider double majoring actually! Hopefully, that would work out with my schedule.
Although, I think I might end up waiting it out because of the whole essay thing (gahhh) and I also figure that admission notifications will be released relatively soon.

@littlemissbang‌ thanks! I got accepted to the School of Management and will major in General Management or Marketing idk yet. Ahaha yea the fact that you didn’t declare a major is good! CAS is slightly easier, but there isn’t a massive difference between them. And yeah I’d just wait it out because the difference isn’t THAT much and its very tedious rewriting your essay :confused: Hopefully you’ll get in! Let me know if you do and good luck!

@skidreamer what were your stats?

@Maxie97‌

1910 SAT
Gpa 6/7 (IB scale)
I’m an international student currently living in Switzerland but I’m British
My extracurriculars are very good
Recs were apparently very good as well
And my essays were great (in my opinion)

@skireamer thanks!! Congratulations!!!
