Could this be a hook?

To all sagacious CC members,

I have an extracurricular which I spend a great deal of time in and was wondering if it could be considered a hook because of the magnitude to which I pursue it. The activity is being a student tutor, but I tutor 19 kids and hold classes for multiple kids at the same time. Also, I have hired out friends of mine to work for me to tutor some kids when I am busy. To repeat my question again, could this be considered a hook?

Thank you very much!

I definately think so.
That's pretty awesome.

"the importance of an education"

and what not.

it probably isn't considered a hook because it is, in the end, an EC. It is a spectacular EC at that, but it is not one that guarantees or greatly improves one's chances of admission.

^^ agreed.

Is it worth it to continue tutoring so many kids. I mean I love teaching, but with college applications and school I don't know if it's worth (in terms of college applications) to teach so many kids. Does the number of kids have much of an impact on my application?

Thanks for all your responses!!

Continue if you like it. If it's preventing you from focusing on academics and stuff, don't. Remember, colleges like consistency, so dropping it may not be the best in either case.

Bumpidy Bump bumpp--bump, bump

Why do so many members on CC insist on "creating" hooks. What is a hook is a hook. What is a questionable hook is not a hook. The only "hooks" are those already mentioned countless times. Maybe people should quit trying to find shortcuts...

I'm sorry my wording made it sound that way. My question in a different light if the magnitude of the extracirricular makes a difference as compared to others who may only tutor 2 or 3 kids.

Thanks again.
