Thanks for your opinion
I’m applying to UCD, UCSD, UCB, Cal Poly SLO, SJSU.

SJSU was fairly selective last year for CS. Your CSU EI (GPA * 800 + SAT or GPA * 200 + ACT * 10) is probably in the 4200-4300 range with SAT or 1020-1060 with ACT (you need to calculate your GPA by UC/CSU method); SJSU’s threshold for CS last year was 4100 with SAT and 990 with ACT, according to Info.sjsu.edu[/url”>http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/narr/admission/rec-904.html]Info.sjsu.edu . However, other majors had lower thresholds, such as computer engineering (3200 or 762) and software engineering (3500 or 840).

You may want to add some less selective CSUs as actual safeties for CS, unless you are willing to use community college followed by transfer as your safety. Among UCs, you may want to add UCSC as a somewhat less selective school with proximity to Silicon Valley.

Be sure to check net price calculators for financial aid and net price estimates.

Sure @ucbalumnus, I will look into it. Most probably my safety is community college with transfer, but I will heed your advice

Thanks :)

and my csu gpa is 3.88
