I am a transfer student with a 3.43 GPA. All my pre-requisites complete as well as IGETC. I'm involved in intercollegiate sports and the major I'm applying for is business administration or econ. What do you think about my odds at SLO? Thank you very much for all your help.

im in the same boat as you. 3.33 for me tho. we should be good :)

Are you going for bus admin too?

i remember reading on here somewhere that the avg GPA for bus admin at SLO was like 3.3, so if thats right, u guys prolly have a good shot

actually i think avg GPA for slo is more like 3.1. transfer GPA is normally pretty low

and no im a physics major

I thought cal poly was a lot harder to get in to than that. Everyone makes it out to be a school that is very difficult to get in to. do you think even with the budget cuts it will bump up the average. also, very important, do you have to update your app for poly like the UC apps? I haven’t heard anything from poly and I’m a little confused

couple quick questions if you guys don’t mind. I’m new to this site and not sure on a few things. What does bump mean and how do you chance someone?

It’s a tough school to get into for engineering disciplines, but I reckon a 3.43 is very competitive for a business major.

Behind engineering and architecture it is hardest to get into SLO for business administration. Cal Poly IS difficult to get into out of high school, but substantially easier as a transfer (like many other schools). @niner, bump is to bring the thread back to the top of the queue in hopes people will get another look at it and respond.

Ya I just can’t believe how much easier it is to get in to schools as a transfer. and thanks scrsk8, you helped out a few of my posts. I really appreciate it
