Could use some transfer advice..

I'm sort of in a unique situation I guess. I have 39 credits with a 3.8 GPA at a decent 4 year university. But I spent the last 4 years of my life with the Marines. I basically had to get out of my house due to some personal issues in my family so I joined the military. I'd like to resume my education at a better school than where I was and could use some advice on what schools would be a possible match for me(basically the best I can do). I've been looking at a lot of schools but I'm pretty lost and don't want to waste my time/money applying everywhere. My HS GPA was a pretty mediocre 2.8 and my SAT was 1280/1600. Money is not an issue but I would prefer a warm climate. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Maybe look at continuing education programs at Penn LPS and Columbia CGS. For Penn, you get the same degree, you just pay less than students from CAS/SEAS/Wharton/Nursing.

Your college GPA is strong, and most continuing ed. institutions say that you need a 3.5 to be a competitive candidate.

Do you have an idea of possible majors? Could you think about and let us know your preferences re big/small school? public/private? urban/rural? big sports atmosphere or no? Greek scene or no? All of that kind of stuff.

I'd like to major in Psychology and I would prefer a moderate sized school in a more rural area. The other stuff doesn't really matter to me.

I'm realizing that I seem to have more knowledge of urban schools. But, thinking of rural/medium size/warm climate... a couple of suggestions might be Clemson or Northern Arizona U.

Have you gone to collegeboard's website and done the College Matchmaker thing? That can be a good place to start. Or, if you mention some schools which appeal to you... it might help spark more ideas here.
