maizeandblue, you obviously didn’t get my point

How do you guys think Michigan matches up against Syracuse?

Should be a close game.

Michigan has good scoring with respectable defense. Hopefully Hardaway has a better game than vs Florida. Mitch McGary has been pretty good on the rebounds lately.

Syracuse has excellent defense with respectable offense. They were able to keep down 5th best offense Indiana.

We could be in for some trouble. But then again, VCU’s havoc defense was not a problem and Florida had the 3rd beset defense in the nation but we never lost the lead. Kept Nate Wolters in check. That said, our interior did not look good against Kansas.

Looks like the key matchup is Syracuse’s zone defense vs. our 3-ball. If Stauskas stays hot and someone else gets going, I like our chances. But Nik isn’t the most consistent shooter, and if he can’t break the zone, then we can’t afford Trey and Tim shooting 1-5 each from 3 like against Florida.

Win or lose, I am proud of our team. Final Four, with impressive wins over Kansas and Florida, is all I can ask for.

On a separate note, keep Kevin Ware in your thoughts and wish for a full recovery. That was one horrible break. Poor kid.

Agreed, Alexandre, this team has given us a special, memorable season, and win or lose from here on out they’ve accomplished something remarkable and made us all proud.

'Cuse’s length and 2-3 zone scare me a little, but I would have said the same thing about Florida before Sunday’s convincing win. We’ve got capable 3-point shooters in Stauskas, Burke, and Hardaway, and GR III can hit the occasional long one as well. I think at least 2 of those 4 will need a good outside shooting night to beat 'Cuse, but it’s certainly possible. If the 3-ball doesn’t fall, however, it could be trouble.
