So, as I’m sure is the same with a lot of people, Brown is my #1. After having been waitlisted today by Middlebury, I’m a lot more worried that I won’t get in. I understand that my chances have always been relatively low, but I’d like to hear input from others so I have realistic expectations for the week after next (I hear back from 6 schools on March 31st… it will not be a fun day).
My SAT score was 2130 (740 reading, 730 writing, 660 math <— not great, I know)
I had a 720 on the Lit subject test and a 700 on US History. Also, I’ve taken 3 AP tests; I got a 5 on Euro and Lang, and a 4 on US History.
I have a 4.2 (4.0 unweighted I think) and have taken 7 AP courses at my school, which doesn’t report class rank. I’ve taken an AP subject in every subject, except science. I took all other courses at the Honors level.
I’m in the French Honor Society and I’m the secretary of the Art Club. I’ve done some low key volunteer work. I did one of those NSLC things on diplomacy over the summer.
I have a job and I work pretty regularly; I’ve been there for over a year.
I’m a Caucasian female who was raised in a single parent household by my mom, who has no college degree and was disabled for a while during the beginning of my senior year (I still maintained a 4.0 while taking care of her and working)
2 people in my immediate family went to Brown. However, my sister was denied admission.
I’ve received a couple academic awards and my recommendations should both be good. I’ve also been told that my common app essay was pretty good.
I’ve already been accepted to my two safety schools, but I was waitlisted at middlebury, which I considered as one of my top choices.
