Could you help me with my List?

I first of all want to say that this is quickly becoming my most-visited site. Is that somewhat depressing?

OK, so I am in need of some serious help with my college list. I have a few top favorites, but I am very confused over this whole reach/match/safety thing (as in, how do I sort these schools out?). I would also really appreciate if you suggest some other colleges that I could potentially be suited for.

I am very much in love with NYU. Can I consider it a match or a reach?
Also, Columbia and UChicago? I'm pretty sure those are hardcore reaches.
Boston U?
Eugene Lang as a safety?

I hope to attend a school that is:
- Very very urban. Hopefully in NYC.
- Located in the Northeast/New England-type region. UChicago is an exception because Chicago is 'da bomb.
- Not too big on the Greek scene. Or sports.
- Generally liberal and somewhat politically active.
- Diverse.

I honestly do not have an idea of what I want to major in, but am considering Literature/Psychology/Journalism/History/International Studies...or something like that.

I am pretty lost in the whole college selection process, so it would be amazing if you guys helped me out. I really appreciate it!!

Maybe check out some liberal arts colleges in the region...

Amherst
Barnard
Bates

Those are all good schools in the northeast worth looking in to. And those aren't the only good LAC's at all in the region.....

Here is a forum with a ton of great LACs, so maybe check out some those. Remember, the ones I listed were just a few!

You definitely have a chance at Chicago. Make clear in your app why you think you're right for the school.

Ubercool urban safeties include Loyola University of Chicago and DePaul U. If I had my druthers, I would move UChicago out of Hyde Park and into Lincoln Park, where DePaul is. Eugene Lang is also very cool, but do not expect people to know it, not even New Yorkers.
