I'm a Chinese,and i love such subjects as biology,biological engeneering,pre-med...etc
and my SAT Reasoning Test 2000,SAT Subject Test 2400;GPA about 3.500;quite common extracurriculum activities(a bit poor comparatively);NO AP scores,but plan to take;
and i love to go to a not so crowded college with good financial aid or scholarships...
So in terms of the above factors,could u give me some advice?
ED:Boston U
EA:Northeastern U;
U of Massachussets Amherst;
RD:Wellesley C
Swarthmore C
U of Iowa
Purdue U
Harvard C (just take it as a very expensive lottery lol )

Please don't hold back any of ur opinion,i'm right here waiting!!!
Great thanx!!!

If financial is a consideration for you, I don’t think applying ED to Boston U is a wise move. They are very selective as to who receives aid packages - look at threads in the Boston U forum from last spring - a lot of accepted students were unpleasantly surprised.

If it’s financial aid you’re looking for, Princeton and Washington University in St. Louis are really good at giving aid to people who normally wouldn’t qualify.

Thanx…i really got unpleasantly surprised…
Could you plz help me choose one for ED?
I forgot to add that my Critical reading 570,quite poor…;Writing630;and Math 800

Don’t apply ED if you need financial aid. The package may be poor (unless the school has guaranteed no loan or parental contribution under certain income and you qualify)

Thanx,yeah,i am interested in the program,but is the program interested in international students? And i figured that WUSL pays attention to extracurriculum activities a lot…
My EC is quite normal…

There are several colleges on your list that should not be there if you are in need of significant aid. State schools are unlikely to give much to internationals.

None of your schools are need blind to internationals. As long as you have a safety in your country your list is fine. If you’re counting on going to college in the US it’s not a good list.

I wouldn’t apply ED anywhere because it is binding and you would have to go to that school. I think you should look into multiple schools for Early Action (EA). I applied to 5 schools EA and was accepted to 3 which took a lot of pressure off of me for the rest of the year. Some EA schools are : Villanova, Georgetown, Fordham, Notre Dame, Boston College, UNC-Chapel Hill. Yale is EA, but if you apply EA there you can’t apply anywhere else EA (they do a very strange single-choice EA system). Best of Luck!

Thanx to all!!! U r all Life saver!!!
I’ve changed the list:
ED: Vassar C / Boston U (not decided)
EA: State University of New York at Stony Brook
Northeastern U
U of Massachussetts Amherst
RD: U of Iowa
Purdue U
