Can it mean something like this, a gauranteed dental school.</p>

<p>Nope. It can’t mean that. It means to me : “one who is engaged in pre-medical studies for the purpose of attending medical school”. Now , that could be “Pre-Health professions”.</p>

<p>I would think that in addition to the studies (assuming here that the term “studies” means “taking the pre-req courses”), premeds are required to participate in ECs that demonstrate that they know what the medicine career is and they are very motivated to get into this field. Am I right, curm? – I think you have learned more about this than I have :-)</p>
