Honestly, how much chance do I have at any of these good schools? Duke and UChicago are my top choices. Any suggestions on how to improve for a better chance? Thanks!!

Unfortunatley, your GPA is very low for these top colleges, and I don’t see anything super outstanding extracirricular-wise to nessecarily make up for it. Your standardized testing is pretty good, but I’m assuming you are Indian, and will be compared to other asian test scores, and they are normally the highest scores. That being said, don’t be discouraged from applying! If you have something very unique or can write a great essay, there is no reason why you can’t be accepted to one of your reach schools. If you are a Wisconsin resident (Like me!) I’d say you have no problem for Madison which is also a very good school! And even if you are OOS I think you have a good shot. Good luck!

Chance me back?

What is your class rank? A very high class rank will help make up for the rather low GPA…

I need:

Your full SAT score and full ACT score (each part).
Gender.
Ethnicity.
State of Residence.
Class Rank.

If you can give me all those, I can give you a percentage point chance.

^^^^ @Philovitist:

SAT CR: 750 Math: 700 W: 770 Essay: 8
ACT Reading: 34 Math: 34 Writing: 36 Science: 30 Essay: 9

Asian (Indian)
OH
Our school doesn’t have class ranks

So. I computed your stats, and probably because of your GPA, I got these results:

22% for UChicago

13% at Duke

41% at Emory

99% at Ohio State

8% at Brown

20% at Northwestern

10% at Cornell

19% at Penn

95% at Case Western

88% at UMich

Duke, UChicago, Pitt, Emory, Ohio State University, Brown, Northwestern, University of Michigan, Cornell, UPenn, CWRU, University of Wisconsin.

If you had a 4.0:

24% at Chicago
25% at Duke
64% at Emory
same at ohio
18% at Brown
41% at Northwestern
43% at Cornell
36% at Penn
same at case
same at umich

So having at 4.0 would’ve helped your chances significantly at a lot of schools.

If you go to one of most rigorous schools in the nation or something, though, you’ll get a bit more leeway on GPA than these chances predict. Not as much as having a 4.0 at a Public would’ve helped you (esp. since you have no class rank or other indicator of school rigor), but still.
