Little by little, I’ve been researching each of these suggestions, and it sounds like there are some great options there for D. I like how different many of the suggestions are too - once we start visiting, she’ll be able to narrow further. I never would have thought of many of these schools, and yet they all offer D something that really fits well into what she hopes to have for her college experience. Thank you!!! If I return to this post to let you know status a year or so from now, will this thread still be available for me to use? Not sure how this works…
Yes, you should be able to revive this thread later. If the mods close it for some reason, you can start a new thread and include a link to the old one for reference. Good luck and enjoy the process!
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Actually, the answer is no, it will be locked. We go through threads periodically and close old ones; we just recently closed 37K threads. So as mentioned above, you can start a new thread with an update, or you can ask a mod to reopen this thread to allow an update.
Third vote for SIMMONS if she doesn’t mind all female. Lots of schools mentioned here will be far out of her reach unless her scores run 1400+ so be sure to check the average stats before adding to your list of course. Many don’t conform with your location wishes either. Skidmore sounds like a good match depending on her scores, it is a small LAC but they do have some pre-professional tracks, Albany is close by but its not Boston or NYC either. Emmanuel is Boston, very close to Simmons.
Thank you! I will be sure to keep you all posted! And we will enjoy the process for sure!
Both of my children went to Eckerd. Son went on to law school, daughter now in vet school. She majored in marine bio and visual arts. Eckerd just opened a new visual arts building. They also have a search and rescue team, EMT student led response team, makers space,(www.eckerd.edu/makerspace/). Many classes are held outside or in the field. Very hands on, research based and collaborative learning. She can develop her own major. Excellent professor/mentor program and very active career center. There is a mixed martial arts club, comedy club, bee keeping club among the more typical club offerings. Palmetto Productions sponsors on campus events. An alum, Libby Shannon is Director of the Office for Advocacy and Gender Justice and Associate Chaplain. They also accept Bright Futures and Florida grants.
