<p>re post #15 and the response to it. OP (original poster)- in the US religion is not as prevalent as you may think. Many here on CC do not think of a god at all in the search for colleges, even if they are religious to any degree. </p>
<p>Freedom of religion includes NOT believing in any religion as well as being allowed to choose whichever beliefs you want to. Presidents often include statements that will please constituents- he has his beliefs and many do believe in a god so it pleases them to hear that. Hearing Obama make that statement does not mean US policy officially supports any religious beliefs. </p>
