Lets say during applications you put that you will take a mandatory prereq during the summer. You get accepted in spring, then take the summer class and drop it by July or August, or maybe the class wasnt offered and you couldnt take it.
The fall quarter for UCs starts around September. My question is, could the university that accepted you find out about this dropped class in time to rescind your acceptance?
Now im not trying to try to cheat the system or anything, i’m just signed up for a difficult class and want to know what would happen if i had to drop it
They base your acceptance through spring. So if it wasn’t completed by spring and is mandatory, you likely will not get in. Now if it was recommended or you just want a head start, they may add it in provisional since you through it out there, and if they do, you would have to ask if you could drop and see what they say. Again, summer is not counted unless there is some leeway they are giving you. But going back to the first part, if it’s mandatory, you really need to get it done by spring.
It depends 1) if the university accepts summer classes before you transfer and 2) on how impacted the major is at the university that you’re trying to transfer to. I would talk to a counselor for your major at the university, to really find out bc CC counselors might generalize.
Rereading this (and BTW, I meant threw not through :D), if it’s a required major course, it’s probably 99.8% moot because you likely won’t get admitted. They need to be done by spring. I suppose there are exceptions. There are always exceptions.
